I edit to numerous style conventions, including the American Medical Association Manual of Style, the American Psychological Association Publications Manual, The Chicago Manual of Style, and the New York Times Manual of Style and Usage. In addition, I customize style guides for clients, as well as for specific projects.

I am comfortable interacting with authors, researchers, and publishers. Periodically I collaborate with authors for whom English is a second language; as well, I often edit British English. Organized and efficient by nature, I strive to minimize review and revision time for authors and production.

As a book development editor, I help authors define, scope, and outline topics; determine book sections, chapters, and appendices; assess and respond to reviewer comments; select artwork; interact with artists, designers, and publishers; and keep on deadline.
